Westchester Man Drives Drunk With Child In Vehicle, Police Say

A weekend traffic stop led to the arrest of a Westchester man who was allegedly driving drunk with an unsecured child sitting in the vehicle, police said.

New York State Police troopers on patrol stopped Ossining resident Fausto Tello Cabrera, 30, on Route 35 in Somers when he committed a vehicle and traffic violation in the area on Sunday, Sept. 30.

Police said that while speaking with Cabrera, they determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He also had a child under the age of 8 inside the car, who was not strapped in with a seatbelt or safety device.

Cabrera was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child, a felony, and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released following his arraignment and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
